COMEL AWARD VANNA MIGLIORIN 2017

The Jurors of the Sixth edition

The names of the juries of the 6th edition of the COMEL Award have been announced. As well as its president, Giorgio Agnisola, art critic and writer, Professor at the Pontifical Theological Faculty of Southern Italy, the jury is composed of Alfredo La Malfa, curator and President of ‘La Verde La Malfa’ Foundation, in San Giovanni La Punta (Catania, Italy), and President of the ‘Casa della divina bellezza’ Foundation, Forza d’Agrò (Messina, Italy); Marco Nocca, art historian, Professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome; Loredana Rea, Director of the ‘Umberto Mastroianni’ Foundation of Arpino and Professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Frosinone, Italy; Maria Gabriella Mazzola, aluminum industry entrepreneur (CO.ME.L., Latina, Italy).

Once again, this award benefits from the presence of important professionals who work in the field of art and are constantly in contact with international events, thanks to their curatorial work of exhibitions, outfittings, publications and conferences. It is a jury that reflects the will to confront with great cultural and artistic realities present on the Italian territory and at the same time receptive to foreign artistic high-quality presences.

The choice of the current jury is also a way to make the places dedicated to the study, tutelage and promotion of art (academies and foundations in this case) known to the European artists invited to take part in the prize, by publishing their names and roles.

Please note that the theme of this year’s award is ‘Sinuosity of Aluminum’. Artists from all European countries can participate with an aluminum work, or with mixed media in which aluminum prevails.
