BIOGRAPHICAL NOTES
Based in Milan, Nadia Nespoli’s research explores the relationship between pictorial mark, memory and the erasure of the image. After her early informal works, she developed a personal language founded on fragmentation, covering and recomposition of the figure. She works mainly on paper, through cuts and stratifications, and later developed cycles dedicated to white, with veils that conceal and simultaneously reveal the original image. In her most recent works she introduces thread, fabric and recycled materials. In 2012 she founded the Laboratorio Artemisia at the Casa di Reclusione in Milan-Bollate. She has exhibited in Italy and abroad, including Milan, Rome, Lugano, Bucharest, Stockholm and Hangzhou.
