COMEL AWARD VANNA MIGLIORIN
Aluminium. Future Intertwinings The Exhibition
The COMEL Award reaches its most eagerly awaited moment: the opening of the exhibition Aluminium. Future Intertwinings, which will take place on Saturday, October 17 at 6:00 p.m.
At Spazio COMEL in Latina, visitors will finally have the opportunity to discover the 13 works selected from the hundreds of submissions received this year. Chosen by a panel of experts chaired by Professor Giorgio Agnisola, the finalists include sculptures, paintings, engravings and installations by artists from Italy and several European countries, all offering both literal and metaphorical interpretations of the theme of Future Intertwinings.
For the COMEL Award, the number 13 holds a special significance: it is the atomic number of aluminium, the number of finalists and also the edition number reached this year, the thirteenth.
The exhibition promises to be rich in emotion, bringing together powerful works that reflect diverse artistic research and a wide range of techniques capable of enhancing the expressive potential of aluminium. The exceptionally high quality of the selected works makes this event particularly significant.
This 13th edition marks the conclusion of a cycle that has seen the COMEL Award grow into a well-established presence on the international contemporary art scene. It is no coincidence that the theme of this final edition is dedicated to the future, because art is what enables us to look ahead with hope, our hearts and minds filled with ideas, emotions and projects that transcend every boundary.
As tradition dictates, the exhibition will conclude with the award ceremony on Saturday, November 7, when both the winner of the 13th COMEL Award and the winner of the Public Choice Award, presented to the artist whose work receives the highest number of votes from visitors, will be announced. The overall winner will also receive a cash prize, while both winning artists will return to Latina for a solo exhibition.
The exhibition will be open daily, except on November 1, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Visitors will be able to vote for their three favourite works until Saturday, October 31.
