BIOGRAPHICAL NOTES

Born in Ancona in 1995, Giulia Fulgenzi Maiesta trained in jewellery design at the Liceo Artistico of Jesi and continued her studies at the Escuela de Joyería Artística Arte 3 in Madrid. During her time in Spain she worked in a luxury costume jewellery atelier before establishing her own studio in Italy. Her research stems from a love for metal and an interest in recycled materials, particularly aluminium, chosen for its ability to combine large volumes with lightness. Her aim is to overcome the idea that the value of a jewel depends on its weight, developing a conceptual jewellery practice in which the material itself can tell a story. She has participated in Milan Jewellery Week, Venice Design Week and Cluster Fair London.
