BIOGRAPHICAL NOTES

Born in Naples, Irene Capuano studied at the Liceo Artistico and the Academy of Fine Arts of Naples, where she graduated in Engraving Techniques in 2008. She has taken part in numerous printmaking exhibitions with the group “La Trottola”, founded around professor Maria Rosaria Perrella, and has also developed a deep interest in painting. Through line and colour she explores the inner world, constructing what she defines as pathways of her “emotional geography”. In engraving, particularly etching, she finds a tool capable of recording even the smallest sign, while in painting she uses egg tempera and colour as vehicles for emotions and inner states. She lives and works in the Phlegraean Fields.
