Aluminum bonds finalists: Penelope Chiara Cocchi

Penelope Chiara Cocchi is a contemporary artist who lives and works between Bologna and Florida (USA). After an SSLMIT Degree, School of Interpreting and Translation, she graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna in 2011.
Her most recent artistic production is based on the infinity mirror technique. Through her “Star Gates”, real sensorial installations, she talks about themes that cross philosophy, passing through anthropology, literature and science.

She has exhibited her artworks in several solo and group exhibitions both in Italy and abroad: in the USA, Russia, Mexico, Austria, England. She has exhibited in institutions such as the Venice Biennale, the MISP Museum in St. Petersburg, the MACRO in Rome, the Ringling Museum in Florida, the IIC in San Francisco and many others. She is represented by galleries and agents in Miami, New York City, Palm Springs, Mexico, Austria and Italy.
Finalist and winner of several international awards: COMEL Award (2021), The Looking Glass and Through it (IIC di San Petersburg) 2020, OfficinARS (2018), Artdex New York (2018), Combat Prize (2018), Arte Laguna Prize (2017), Art and Science Golinelli Foundation (2009).
Her work “We Are All Made of Stardust” (Infinity mirror made of aluminium, glass, electrical system) is one of the 13 finalist works of the eighth edition of the COMEL “Aluminum Bonds” Award.
