MIRELLA SALUZZO
Mirella Saluzzo
Mirella Saluzzo is a painter and sculptor who lives and works between Ravenna and Milan. In the early 1980s, she graduated from the Brera Academy of Fine Arts. Since the very beginning of her career, she has experimented with different materials and artistic languages by making painting and sculpture dialogue, with an unconventional use of shapes and colours.
She has been using aluminium since the early 90s and her artistic research leads her to question herself relentlessly on the close link between space and work that become one, in an exchange that generates meaning. The colours fade and the shapes become less daring reaching rigor and essentiality without ever abandoning their own poetry. Her works now recall the precariousness and instability of the present and invite us to look beyond, towards new horizons, towards distant worlds. Her artworks, can be found in public and private collections, and they have been exhibited in many prestigious locations in central and northern Italy.
Her artwork “Relazioni” (aluminium sheet and wood with mixed technique) was selected by the jury of experts as one of the 13 finalist works of the eighth edition of the COMEL “Aluminium Bonds” Award.
