BIOGRAPHICAL NOTES

Born in Amsterdam in 1969, Ferruccio Maierna’s research focuses on the value of the mark, the perception of time and the metamorphosis of matter. He lived in Belgium until 1997, training at the École des Arts d’Ixelles and the Académie Beeldende Kunsten in Anderlecht, Brussels, where he deepened his knowledge of sheet metal and metalworking techniques. After moving to Italy, where he currently lives and works, he developed a practice ranging from large sculptures to micro-sculptures and art jewellery. He has exhibited in Italy and abroad and has received international recognition. Since 2026, one of his works has been part of the permanent contemporary art collection of the Fondazione D’Arc in Rome.
