BIOGRAPHICAL NOTES

Caterina Arcuri has been active since the 1990s in the field of visual research and experimentation. Her practice has developed through video, photography and performance, and more recently expanded to drawing, sculpture and installation, while maintaining a strongly conceptual approach. Time, memory and the undefined lie at the core of her poetics, while formally her research is characterised by an essentialist language and rigorous monochromy, in dialogue with architecture and place. She works with various materials, including ceramics, mirror-polished stainless steel and enamelled wood. She teaches Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Catanzaro.
